Denzel Washington, Gary Oldham, Jennifer Beals and Mila Kunis deliver moving performances in this latest movie in the growing post apocalyptic genre. Eli (Denzel Washington), a survivalist begins a journey west across a devastated American landscape. He encounters Carnegie (Gary Oldman), a power-hungry bar owner, who quickly realizes that Eli has in his possession a rare book. Carnegie hunts Eli with the hope of gaining possession of a book because he believes it will give him the power he needs to control his community.

The Book of Eli, directed by brothers Allen and Albert Hughes, intelligently examines the question of religious faith in times of great adversity. Audiences will likely enjoy the movie for its beautiful photography, highly choreographed action scenes and for its sobering yet uplifting ending.
